DRL/Services/For Oil & Gas

Services for oil & gas.

Digital core analysis and reservoir rock characterization for conventional and unconventional reservoir systems. Pore-scale flow and transport modeling grounded in 3D image data.

What we deliver

Digital core analysis.

We provide multi-scale reservoir rock characterization and image-based petrophysical analysis for conventional and unconventional (shale, tight gas) systems. Engagements are scoped per project – from a single core plug to comparative multi-well studies.

Imaging

Reservoir rock imaging

Multi-scale correlative micro-CT/-XRM, SEM/EDS, FIB-SEM nanotomography, and S/TEM characterization of conventional and unconventional reservoir rocks, including organic-rich shales and tight carbonates.

Analysis

3D pore network characterization

AI-assisted segmentation, pore-phase identification, pore-network extraction, and multi-scale pore geometry statistics from 3D image data, including nano-scale organic pore systems in shales.

Modeling

Pore-scale flow and transport simulation

Absolute and relative permeability, formation factor, capillary pressure, and effective diffusivity computed directly from 3D digital rock models.

3D digital rock model reconstructed from reservoir rock tomography data.
Properties we extract

Image-derived petrophysical properties.

  • Porosity and effective (connected) porosity
  • Pore size distribution and pore-network statistics
  • Absolute permeability (single-phase flow simulation)
  • Relative permeability and capillary pressure
  • Formation factor and electrical conductivity
  • Mercury intrusion capillary pressure (MICP)
  • Effective diffusivity and tortuosity
